Mandalam and Makaravilakku festival
From 17th November 2022 to January 15th 2023

With the blessings of Lord Ayyappa, the Mandalam and Makaravilakku festival will be celebrated from 17th November 2022 to January 15th 2022 at Sri Ayyappa Temple,Annanagar, Chennai - 40. The temple Utsavam will be celebrated from 8.12.2022 to 16.12.2022.The Kodiyettam is scheduled for 8.12.2022 and the Aarattu ceremony on 15.12.2022 at Ayyappa Poongavanam, Arikkambedu near Avadi. Special Kalabhabishekam will be conducted on 16.12.2022.

The temple has made elaborate arrangements for Maladharanam and Kettunira during this period. During this period Annadhanam has been arranged for all devotees and their families by way of breakfast and lunch.Various cultural programmes in the form of traditional dances and devotional music has also been arranged during this period including a music programme by Padma Vibhushan Dr KJ Yesudas on 9th December 2020. As a value added service to the devotees the temple has made arrangements for issuing coupons for purchase of Appam,Aravana and Neyabhishekam at Sabarimala in the temple itself.

The temple will be open for Darshan at 4.00 am on 17th November ,2022 and thereafter at 4.30 am during the Mandalam and Makaravilakku festival.
