Medical Centre, started in a thatched shed in the year Samajam moved to a PUCCA building near the Ayyappa Temple. This was attracting hundreds of patients from poor families. Samajam doctor assisted by Para-medical staff has been giving free medical treatments to all these patients during the last 25 years. In order to cater to a larger number of patients, the Centre was relocated in a more spacious and independent building at Plot No.A-1, Valayapathy Salai, Near TNSC Bank, Mogappair East, Chennai 600 037, Tamilnadu, India .Here out patients are offered treatment daily Morning between 8 to 11hrs. and Evening 5 to 8 hrs. Qualified doctors and specialists in the field of eye, Dental, Pediatrics, ENT, Cardiology, Orthopedics etc. are available for free consultation. Medicines are also supplied at heavily subsidized rates.
However since last 3 Years a full fledged Medical Centre is functioning at the newly built premises of The Trust on the Samjam leased land at 38, Ambattur Redhills Road, Vellanur Panchayat, Chennai - 62. Free consultation and medicines are offered to the patients on Sunday. A dental clinic is also functioning on Thursday at the Centre. Even quarterly comprehensive Medical Camp in general Medicine , Diabetes, Ophthalmology and Cardiology.
The Samajam distributes food packets daily to inmates of orphanages in and around Annanagar and also in front of the Temple during the Mandala Makara celebrations from 16th November to January 14th every year free food is provided to more than 500 people at the Temple Canteen.
